News“The Post-Office” in Sholokhov Museum27.04.2015New interactive classes for schoolchildren are developed in the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. In a bright form the children learn about the history of the post and postal service. The children expand their knowledge about the beginning of the post service, they learn how kinds and ways of sending letters changed and improved, what the first post seals, postmarks, post stamps and letter-boxes looked like. The schoolchildren are mostly interested in the practical part of the lesson. They make paper envelopes of the kind used late in the XIX century, stick the stamps, sign the address with an old metal nib pen, put a postmark and seal the envelope with sealing-wax. It is not easy to write with an old metal nib pen, but the children try to be a success.
