Sholokhov Museum at the Festival “The Glorified Steppe”

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the IV Regional Festival of Environmental Tourism “The Glorified Steppe”, which was held in the Orlov District the Rostov Region. This year the festival was devoted to the natural flowering of tulips in the valley of the Manych River.

The event was organized by the Rostov Region Ministry of Natural Resources, “Steppe Wildlife” association and the State Natural Biosphere Reserve   “Rostovsky”. The festival was visited by nearly 2.5 thousand people from different parts of the Rostov, Voronezh regions and the Republic of Kalmykia.

In April, the valley of the Manych is an unforgettable, but, unfortunately, very short sight of wild tulips flowering. Eco-tourists could admire the vast steppes and blooming Schrenk and Bieberstein tulips, and two-flower tulips.

The operational platform of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov displayed the main areas of ecological and environmental activities, and some intermediate results of the work in this area.

The master-classes held by the Museum employees were of great interest for the visitors. The guests saw a carving work of the master and admired the articles made by the skillful master. Each visitor could make a souvenir: paint a wooden spoon with a tulip pattern, make a postcard with a steppe herb decoration and weave on the machine a mat of herbs and flowers. Everyone was entertained with a fragrant Don herb tea with honey.

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov was awarded a certificate of the Rostov Region Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for active participation in the IV interregional festival of eco-tourism “The Glorified Steppe”.
