News“Sholokhov Source” at the Parental Estate of M.A.Sholokhov16.04.2015On April, 15, the First round of the XVI rally of the children and youth environmental movement “Sholokhov Source” for the first time took place at the parental estate of M.A.Sholokhov in Kruzhilin Village. The competition was entered by 12 teams from Russia, Kazakhstan and Abkhazia. The members of the “Sholokhov Source” were welcomed by I.P.Kruzhilin, Honoured Scientist of the RSFSR, academician of the New-York Academy of Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences; A.V.Abakumov, expert-specialist of the Millerovo Department of the Rostov Region Ministry of Natural Resources; S.G.Bashtura, Deputy Head of the Sholokhov District Administration. According to the rally program the children showed their knowledge and skills while performing the competitive tasks, visited the memorial sites of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve and took part in the reconstruction of the historic orchard at the writer’s estate in Kruzhilin Village. The members of the rally did the tasks of the literary contest, answered the questions of the ecological tests, defended their research papers and acted as young archeologists of ancient burial mounds and presented their decorative craftworks from recycled materials. The winners were determined by the results of all the competitions. The first place was taken by the team of the memorial museum of M.A.Sholokhov (Daryinskoye Village, Kazakhstan), the second place was taken by the team of Sholokhov School of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, the third place – by the team from school 45 of Vladikavkaz. The members of the rally were awarded diplomas, letters of thanks and memorable gifts. The Second round of the XVI rally of the children and youth environmental movement “Sholokhov Source” will gather in the Don country the children, who are interested in the work of M.A.Sholokhov, environmental problems of the native land and wishing to have new friends.
