NewsOrchard Reconstruction at the Sholokhovs’ Estate in Kruzhilin Village is Completed16.04.2015On April, 15, an orchard reconstruction at the parental estate of M.A.Sholokhov in Kruzhilin Village has been completed. There are planted old varieties of apple-trees and pear-trees, which were grown by the Upper Don Cossacks early in the XX century. The saplings of the apple-trees (Anis Striped, Titovka, Polosatka, Miron Sakharny, Korobovka) and pear-trees (Bergamot and Gliva) were specially grown by the employees of the Garden-Park Art Department of the Museum-Reserve. The young fruit-trees were planted by honorary residents of the Sholokhov District, leading gardeners from the All-Russian I.V.Michurin Research Institute, Kuban State Agricultural University, the Don State Agricultural University, agricultural company “Krasny Sad” from Bataisk, the members of the “Sholokhov Source” movement and Museum employees. Now in the orchard of the Sholokhovs’ estate there are nominal trees of the honorary residents of the Sholokhov District, Kruzhilin Village and Museum veterans. The Museum guests will always be delighted with the flowering green trees and fragrant fresh fruits.
