Arbor Day in the “Sholokhov Source” Forest Area

Arbor Day has become a tradition with the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. This year the museum workers from the departments for the Memorial Landscape Conservation and Environmental Monitoring and for Garden and Park Art, and the guests made the planting work earlier, on April, 6, because traditionally this Day coincides with the last day before the Bright Resurrection of Christ.

The members of the Children and Youth Environmental Movement “Sholokhov Source” continued planting the Crimean pine at the forest area of the Movement. On the sites of “Western Europe” the pine was added with the saplings of: the oak – on the site of France, the chestnut – on the site of Portugal, the maple – on the site of Greece, the oak and elm – on the site of Spain. An alley of pine and sumac was created around the territory of the Museum hippodrome.

The tool of “Sholokhov Sword”, a decorative analogue of Kolesov Sword, was for the second time used in planting.

Certainly, the Arbor Day will be continued, and the trees planted this spring will be a delight for the residents and guests of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya for long years.
