05.03.2015

An opening ceremony of the Year of Literature in the Rostov Region was followed by an exhibition of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov on March, 4, in the Musical Theatre of Rostov-on-Don.

The ceremony was joined by Governor Verily Golubev, Stanislav Govorukhin, Chairman of the Duma Committee on Culture, Vladimir Tolstoy, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation for culture, and Alexander Sholokhov, Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.

Vladimir Tolstoy said that “The Don country is worthy to open Russian Year of Literature”. He underlined that such a return of attention to the book, to reading is extremely important, because literature is the basis of morality. “The day of opening the Year of Literature in the Rostov Region is a real holiday for me. I like to be coming here very much, I like the Don country very much,”-Vladimir Tolstoy said at the opening ceremony.
