26.02.2015

The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve submitted the requests to enter the contests for the international and national awards “GLOBAL ECO BRAND”,”ERAECO”, and “Crystal Compass” in geography, ecology, conservation and popularization of the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia.

The project “Ecological Museum School” includes 5 levels of environmental education: kindergarten children; primary school students, middle- and senior school students; students of vocational and higher education institutions; magisters, postgraduates and doctoral students. The novelty of the projects is that the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov acts as a school of environmental education, where visual aids are museum objects, collections, exhibits, exhibitions and unique nature landscapes.

The project “Pearl of Eurasia” is purposed for creation a unique forest tract of the plants brought from different regions, territories, republics of the Russian Federation and other countries of Europe and Asia, which are not adapted to local conditions and are not typical for the steppe zone of the south of Russia. On the basis of the forest it is planed to create an attractive recreation area, a new tourist site of Sholokhov country.

The project “Landscapes of “The Quiet Don” as an Object of Biodiversity Conservation” was developed with a purpose of monitoring, conservation and maintaining of the natural and cultural sites of the cherished natural landscape zone of the Museum-Reserve, identification and registration of new cultural and memorial landscapes. The Museum-Reserve carries out studies and diagnostics of the ecosystem zone condition of the cherished natural landscape, what helps to preserve biodiversity and to use rationally the landscape for exhibitional, recreational and scientific purposes.
