News“New Year in the Sholokhovs’ Family”14.12.2015This is a headline of the cycle of classes for school students to be held during the New Year holidays in the Children Museum Centre. The children will learn about the Decree of Tsar Peter I on celebration New Year in Rus, will see toys, which the New Year trees were decorated with in the 30–50-s of the previous century, and copies of New Year postcards from the archives of the Sholokhovs’ family. The girls and boys will hear the memories of the writer’s daughters Mariya Mikhailovna and Svetlana Mikhailovna about preparations for New Year celebrations in the Sholokhovs’ family. T.V.Tsokur, a resident of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, will tell how the Sholokhovs’ family made New Year holiday parties for children in the 50-s – with refreshments, songs and a fun lottery. And as well as once before in the Sholokhovs’ family, the children will take part in a festive lottery: on taking a ticket out from a Cossack forage cap and finding a toy of the same number in the New Year tree they will get it for a present. Each member of the class will be able to make a toy of clay himself to remember of the holiday in the Museum.
