The New Year and Christmas in Vyoshenskaya

The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve invites to Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya for the New Year holidays.

The New Year and Christmas are the holidays, which children and adults wait for with anticipation. These holidays are loved in the Don region and always celebrated brightly and colourfully.

The Museum of M.A.Sholokhov offers a New Year tour to Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya with an entertaining and educational program of Father Frost and Snegurochka: a festive New Year party, where you can taste dishes cooked after the recipes of the Sholokhovs family, enjoy the concert of the Cossack folk group, winter fun and traditional Cossack games. The tour includes accommodation in the Museum guest houses, a complete tour program about Sholokhov sites, participation in the holiday festivities in the central square of the stanitsa.

The themes of the tours are diverse. At the Stables of the Museum-Reserve you can learn about the Don horse-breeding traditions and the Cossack life, of which a horse, a faithful friend of a Cossack, was an integral part. Here you can see real Don racehorses and have a ride on a sled.

While travelling about the Cossack remote place, Kruzhilin Village, you can learn about the Cossack way of life. In a real Cossack kuren you will get into warmth and comfort for a tea party with pies, cakes and honey.

The Christmas Program includes attending exhibitions of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, participation in the traditional Christmas celebration. As desired, the tourists can attend a solemn service in the church of Archangel Michael.

The program ends with a master-class on making Don souvenirs. You will learn secrets of pottery-making, painting ceramics, basket weaving and wood carving. For children it is an informative lesson and for adults it is a venturesome activity. You will take the souvenir made by yourself for a good memory about this fabulous holiday in Vyoshenskaya.
