Awaiting the Premiere of a New Film Version “The Quiet Don” on the Novel by M.A.Sholokhov

On November, 29, at 21.30, the TV channel “Rossiya 1” begins showing a new serial film “The Quiet Don” after the title novel by M.A.Sholokhov.

The film shooting had been taking place in the surroundings of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya for two years and a half, and now the countrymen of the author of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” and the whole country look forward to the film’s release. On the eve of the premiere a lot of questions arise. How shall we perceive the performers of the main personages after the bright and catchy acting of Elina Bystritskaya and Pyotr Glebov? Can the film director S.Ursulyak and the screenwriters convey the diversity of the novel and its meaning complexity? Will they manage to convey the Cossack colouring?
