The TV Premiere of the New Film “The Quiet Don” on November, 29

The premiere of the new serial film “The Quiet Don” on the novel by M.A.Sholokhov (director S.Ursulyak), which shooting took place in the surroundings of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya for about two years and a half, will be shown on the TV channel “Rossiya 1” on November, 29, at 21.30. On the same day, at 20.40, an hour before the premiere, the TV channel “Kultura” (“Rossiya K”) will show “a film about the film”– a documentary film “The Quiet Don”. Shooting on the Background of the Era” (the author and director Yelena Yakovich). The program tells about the historical context of the novel, about the Upper Don insurrection, which became the centre of it, and in many respects determined the lives of the personages, about the importance of reading the epic novel by Mikhail Sholokhov again today.
