Exhibition “Landscape in the Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov”
11.11.2015On November, 18, the exhibition “Landscape in the Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov” is going to open in the Excursion-Exhibition Centre “People’s House”. It will display the works of the painter Alexey Bogdanov.
A.P.Bogdanov is the member of the Union of Artists and Designers of Russia, member of the Union of Artists of Germany. His forefathers came from the Don country, and the Don themes are quite close to the artist.
The exhibition will show graphic works by Bogdanov, which he made during the last two years to illustrate the first and the second books of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”.
The artist repeatedly reread the novel and admired how lovingly the writer conveyed the beauty of the Don landscape. This love was passed on to Alexey Petrovich and he decided to transfer the descriptions of nature on to the graphic sheets.
Each picture is accompanied by a quote from the novel to help a better perception of the graphic image of the landscape and arouses a greater interest for the famous novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov.
The exhibition will run until February, 29, 2016.
