“Sholokhov Spring” and “Kruzhilin Toloki” are the Best Tourist Events of Russia!

24.10.2015

On October, 21–22, the Final of the National Prize in Event Tourism-2015 “Russian Event Awards” took place in Kazan under the support of the Federal Agency on Tourism and the State Committee of the Tatarstan Republic on Tourism.

688 projects from 69 regions of Russia were submitted for the competition. The winners were determined in 11 nominations, and the regional competitions resulted in 117 projects-winners from 45 regions to enter the Final.

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov presented two festive events which won in the regional competitions of the South of Russia:

- All-Russian literary and folklore festival “Sholokhov Spring” in the nomination “The Best Event in Culture”;

- Literary and ethnographic holiday “Kruzhilin Toloki” in the nomination “The Best Event in Spreading Folk Traditions and Crafts”.

The presentations were prepared by the Information Department in a professional manner, with economic and statistic data and with bright emotional photos reflecting the essence of what was happening and a real joy of the members and guests of our holidays. A video showed a living picture of the festival complementing the presentation.

The Museum-Reserve delegation did their best to defend the projects: the performance included Cossack songs and dances, theatrical scenes with Aksiniya and Grigory, with Ded Shchukar and a Cossack woman, and tasting traditional Cossack dishes. The workers from Kruzhilin Historical and Memorial complex provided necessary props – a hand mill, which is frequently exhibited, the workers of the department of applied art made a wattle fence, and many people of Karghin and Kruzhilin Museum sites and Department of Museum Development cooked traditional dishes, which were delicious and tasty for the experts.

Brave Cossacks, the members of the delegation, took an active part in the event: they showed the jury members how to grind grain on the hand mill and treated them to the Don Cossack dishes.

Cossack songs accompanied by the Russian accordion, garmon and balalaika sounded so brightly, emotionally and entertaining that our “ensemble” was invited for a concert tour to Saint-Petersburg!

In parallel with a full-time competition there was Internet voting in support of our event projects, which was joined by all the museum workers, our friends and colleagues from the Rostov Region, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tula, many other regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Spain, Taiwan and other countries!

The awarding ceremony, which took place on October, 22, was joined by Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ildar Khalikov, Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Serghey Ivanov, Chairman of the Tatarstan Committee on Tourism, Serghey Korneyev, Deputy Head of the Federal Committee on Tourism, and others.

The achievements of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov were highly appreciated by the expert jury, and the All-Russian literary and folklore festival “Sholokhov Spring” gained the First Place in the nomination “The Best Event in Culture” and the literary and ethnographic holiday “Kruzhilin Toloki” gained Grand Prix in the nomination “The Best Event on Spreading Folk Traditions and Crafts”!

According to the results of Internet voting “Sholokhov Spring” and “Kruzhilin Toloki” entered the Top 5 of people’s choice award and will receive a full information support for promotion in the field of event tourism.

We congratulate the staff of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, our friends and colleagues with our common victory!
