The Relay Quiz “Forest Tier” Starts Again

On the Forester’s Day, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve jointly with the Novocherkassk Engineering and Reclamation Institute of the Don State Agrarian University is going to hold a relay quiz “Forest Tier”. It will take place on October, 2, 2015, near the Museum-Reserve Stables. Schoolchildren from the Rostov, Volgograd and Voronezh regions will take part in it.

Within the relay quiz the schoolchildren will implement the assignments: to describe the main components of the plants, determine the main parameters of the growing stock (composition, age, height, cross section area, density and reserve), species diversity of forest birds, and others.

Participating in the “Forest Tier” the boys and girls will acquire basic forestry skills and habits, and deepen their knowledge about the forest. All these will contribute to ecological awareness and careful attitude to the homeland environment.

The winners will be awarded diplomas of the I–III degrees, gifts and personal certificates giving an advantage to enroll in college or university for the senior students of the 9th and 11th forms.
