Historical and Cultural Heritage of Russia Must be Preserved

On September, 5–6, a visiting session of the Interregional Interdepartmental Working Group on the implementation of the Presidential commission “Regulation and Implementation of the Urban Development Activities in the Territory and in the Protected Areas of Museum-Reserves in the Southern, North-Caucasian and Crimean Federal Districts” took place in the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.

The representatives of the Office of the Russian Ministry of Culture for the Southern, North-Caucasian, Crimean and Central federal districts, advisors and inspectors of departments and offices of the state protection of cultural heritage from the Rostov, Astrakhan, Volgograd regions, specialists-experts of the Federal Property Management Agency of the Rostov Region, directors and representatives of a number of museum-reserves of the country gathered to discuss the problems of regulation and implementation of the urban development activities, cultural heritage inventory, execution of measures to establish the boundaries of the territories and protected zones of the museum-reserves and places of sights.

The members of the session were welcomed by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. S.Y.Gordiyenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, and S.E.Bogatyryov, Head of the Office of the Ministry of Culture of the Central Federation District, spoke about the key areas of the work of the interdepartmental working groups on implementation of the Presidential commissions.

The directors and deputy directors of the museum-reserves exchanged their experience with their colleagues on the organization of the protected zones and pointed out the problems arising in the description of the cherished natural territories, in drawing maps, and the problems connected with registration of the territories occupied by natural memorials in the state real estate cadastre.

The representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Russia underlined that the realization of the Presidential commissions is controlled by the plenipotentiary representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in the federal districts and requires special attention and unconditional implementation. S.Y.Gordiyenko and S.E.Bogatyryov answered the questions of the audience and gave their recommendations on cooperation of the museum-reserves, local administrations and bodies of protection of monuments and cultural heritage sites.

The members of the meeting visited the Memorial Estate of M.A.Sholokhov and natural sights around Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. Next day they took part in the literary and ethnographic festival “Kruzhilin Toloki”.
