The Jubilee “Sholokhov Readings” will be Held in Vyoshenskaya

On September, 15–18, the XVII International Scientific and Practical conference “Modern Studies in the Work of M.A.Sholokhov: Problems, Concepts and Approaches” (“Sholokhov Readings”) dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the great writer will take place in Vyoshenskaya, in the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.

Sholokhov scholars from different parts of Russia and foreign countries including B.Kosanovich (Serbia), A.E.Kostin (Lithuania), A.M.Ushakov, N.V.Korniyenko, S.A.Nebolsin, Y.A.Dvoryashin, G.N.Vorontsova (The Institute of the World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences), N.I.Stopchenko, T.O.Osipova, L.B.Savenkova (South Federal University) and many others will join the conference.

The “Sholokhov Readings” will include a round table discussion of the problems on preparing a joint publishing project “Readers’Letters to M.A.Sholokhov”of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve and the Institute of the World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Main Subjects of the Conference:

* New approaches to the study in the work of M.A.Sholokhov; 

* Modern interpretations of Sholokhov’s works and images; 

* Trends and prospects of the studies in the biography, writing and social activity of M.A.Sholokhov; 

* The world recognition of the works of M.A.Sholokhov; 

* Sholokhov’s letters and readers’ letters to Sholokhov: topical problems in the studies; 

* The works of M.A.Sholokhov in the university and secondary school; 

* M.A.Sholokhov: foreign and domestic literary studies in the XX–XXI centuries; 

* The Great Patriotic War in the works of M.A.Sholokhov (for the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War). 

The conference materials will be published in the book of collected scientific papers “Vyoshensky Vestnik”.
