The Personages of Sholokhov’s Works in Yelabuga

14.07.2015

An exhibition “Book Graphics on the Works of M.A.Sholokhov” will open on July, 30, in the Yelabuga State Historical, Architectural and Artistic Museum-Reserve.

Yelabuga is one of the oldest settlements of the Tatarstan Republic having a 1000 year-old history. The millennial anniversary of the city was celebrated in 2007. The richest history of the city faithfully keeps in its memory the names of many famous people of Russia and Tatarstan: the great Russian artist I.I.Shishkin, legendary “cavalier girl” N.A.Durova, the famous poetess M.I.Tsvetayeva and many others.

At the exhibition the Museum-Reserve will present the works by the well-known masters of graphics – Orest Vereisky, Yury Rebrov, Victor Galdyayev, Nikolay Usachov, Vladimir Baklanov, Valentina and Leonid Petrov and Kukryniksy. The visitors will appreciate the variety of the creative search and solutions of the artists.

Each illustrator had a unique style in drawing and he skillfully depicted the scenes from “And Quiet Flows the Don”, “Virgin Soil Upturned”, “Tales from the Don”, “They Fought for Their Country”. The exhibition will take the viewers to the bright, passionate world of the personages of M.A.Sholokhov and will help them to read and understand the writer’s works in a new way.

The exhibition will run in Yelabuga until August, 26, 2015.
