The motto of the festival “Boundless Literature” in the Year of Literature in Russia, held in the only literary museum in the Yaroslavl Region, sounded very symbolic. The festival opening ceremony was joined by S.N. Yastrebov, the Yaroslavl Region Governor. The lovers of literature were offered an extensive program. All day long, permanent exhibitions ran in the museum territory, and in the Upper Park of the estate there were shown one-day exhibitions, including Sholokhov Museum displaying its projects. The festival program was very diverse. A historical photo studio welcomed all who wanted to get back to the magic atmosphere of the century before last. Old and young could try themselves in the art of poetry making, singing, dancing, drawing and acting in the thematic areas. The guests took part in the interactive program which included collective old games and costume spectacle based on the works of Russian classics and performed by the public. A bright event was the concert and literary program including the stars of the theatre, cinema and pop music. Yury Nazarov, the People’s Actor of Russia, recited his favourite poetry from N.A.Nekrasov. For the first time the event included a festival of literary museums and a contest of regional departments of the Russian Union of Writers. Nekrasov was celebrated by Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, Saltykov-Shchedrin Museum from Tver, Pushkin Museum “Mikhailovskoye”, Yesenin Museum from the Ryazan Region, the Museum of Bulat Okudzhava and of Korney Chukovsky from Peredelkino, the Museum of Mendeleyev and Blok from Shakhmatovo (under Moscow) and the Museum of Alexander Ostrovsky “Shchelykovo” from Kostroma. The festival presented everyone with creative inspiration and expectation of a new meeting when Karabikha welcomes her guests again.
