News“The Khopyor Dawns” of Mikhail Sholokhov23.06.2015The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the XI ecological and local history festival “The Khopyor Dawns of Mikhail Sholokhov”, which was held in Stanitsa Bukanovskaya the Kumylzhensky District of the Volgograd Region. The festival was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the great writer and the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The guests were greeted and entertained by the folk groups from different districts of the Volgograd and Rostov regions. Also, they were treated with traditional Cossack viands and were invited for the festival fair. For the lovers of active games and competitions there was a “Disporting Maidan”. The exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov.Moments of Life” aroused a great interest in the holiday makers. It tells about the great Russian writer via his life and gives the visitors an opportunity to go by the roads of Sholokhov’s personages, to see the cherished nooks of the Don country which serve illustrations to his great novel and continue living and bearing new stories. The festival became an important and unforgettable event bringing an ecological awareness, love for the folk song, the work of Mikhail Sholokhov contributing to preservation of Cossack traditions and a caring attitude to the natural resources of Prikhopyoriye.
