The Summer Holidays in the Museum

All year round the Children Centre of Sholokhov Museum holds classes, competitions, holidays for schoolchildren, and on summer holidays the number of the events increases a lot.

On June, 8–22, interactive museum classes were held for the children resting in day stay health camps of the Sholokhov District.

Young visitors took part in master-classes, where they learned about the traditional culture and everyday life of the Don Cossacks. The children were enthusiastic making candlesticks and mugs of clay, decorative horses of bast, decorations of felt, they painted patterned sandriks and drew in grattage techniques. At the lesson of “Post-Office” they learned about the history of the post-service, made envelopes by themselves and wrote letters with a metal pen to their relatives and friends and sealed the envelopes with sealing wax.

The boys and girls got bright impressions of their spending time in the Children Centre.
