Cossack Youth Rally in the Don Country

The All-Russian Rally of Cossack Youth “Ready for Labour and Defence” took place on June, 14–18, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. Over 200 Cossacks from the 11 registered Cossack Army societies from all parts of Russia have come to Vyoshenskaya to take part in the competitions, to pass the rate test “Ready for Labour and Defence” and to learn about the Don country, the sights, where the great writer Mikhail Sholokhov lived and worked.
On June, 15, the members of the Rally, young Cossacks, aged 18–30 attended the exhibitions of the Museum of M.A.Sholokhov.
On June, 16, in the building of the historical and literary exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov.Time and Destiny” there was a meeting of the Cossack Council Presidium, which was joined by Vasily Golubev, acting governor, Alexander Beglov, Chairman of the Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs, A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The meeting discussed the development strategy of the Cossacks till 2020, which was approved by the President. As well, there was a talk about the work with young people. That is why meeting with their representatives became a mandatory item of the program.
