NewsSholokhov Museum will Show Its Exhibition in Kaliningrad11.06.2015The exhibition “The World of Sholokhov” devoted to the life and work of the great Russian writer will open on June, 19, in the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad. The Museum of the World Ocean is a central maritime museum of Russia which collection numbers 70000 items. Its main exhibit is a legendary research ship “Vityaz”, which made 65 expeditions in the world ocean under the banner of the USSR Academy of Sciences and was put on eternal anchorage at the Museum quay on June, 12, 1994. The creative collaboration of the Sholokhov Museum and the Museum of the World Ocean has lasted for years and resulted in the most interesting joint exhibition projects. The exhibition “The World of Sholokhov” which is going to open in Kaliningrad will tell about the creative biography of the writer and about the Don Cossacks, a historical ground of his works. The books by Sholokhov, his personages’ lives reflected the destiny of the people, the destiny of Russia. The writer’s honesty, his courageous truth, sincere love for people, lofty humanism and devotion to his beloved homeland open a whole world for the reader. And in order to enter the world of Sholokhov, to understand it completely, to comprehend the height and power of his works, it is necessary to know the history of the Don land, understand the identity of the people living in this country and feel their unique life as the artist saw and felt it.
