Exhibition “The Art of War. The Blade’s Silver Face”
01.12.2014The exhibition “The Art of War. The Blade’s Silver Face” from the collection of the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts and the private collection of E.S.Shelobod will run in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” from December, 12, 2014.
The Museum of Fine Arts and the Rostov collector E.S.Shelobod combined their collections to present comprehensively the pages of history through authentic items of weapons and works of the famous artists.
The collection of E.S.Shelobod comprises 1000 items, and the most interesting and valuable of them will be exhibited: officer’s sabers of different branches of service, trophy blades, swords made by the famous Caucasian masters, award weapons and items of firearms of the 16–19 centuries. The weapons of the Don Cossacks find the most vivid presentation: Turkish, Persian, Polish blades, sabers of Russian manufacture, Caucasian swords and others.
The works of the famous Russian artist V.Serov “Tale of Igor”, the works of the Don artists I.Rebrov, A.Isakov, A.Fyodorov, B.Sporykhin, M.Sokolenko complement the exhibition and give it a special mood and tell about the historic events from different epochs.
