Opening of the Exhibition “Daughters of Russia”

01.10.2014

The exhibition “Daughters of Russia” from the collection of the State Museum-Reserve of the War History “Prokhorovskoye Pole” (the Belgorod Region) was opened on September, 29, 2014, in the Excursion-Exhibition Centre “People’s House” of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The presentation of the exhibition was joined by the workers of the Museum-Reserve “Prokhorovskoye Pole” headed by the Museum Deputy Director Oksana Mishkina, Vyoshenskaya residents, veterans and young people.

A dramatic performance about the life of graduates of Vyoshensky Teachers’ College and women of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya carried over the visitors to the distant war years. The actors showed a moving heartfelt performance about the destinies of the war generation.

Having experienced with the personages their hardships, so usual for that time, the guests went to the exhibition hall.

The exhibition “Daughters of Russia” is a “return visit”. Our Museum showed in 2012 the exhibition “The Don. Sholokhov. Russia” in the Museum-Reserve “Prokhorovskoye Pole”. The present exhibition will give an opportunity for the people of Vyoshenskaya to learn about and feel the life of women-soldiers, women-toilers of Belgorod country.

The exhibition “Daughters of Russia” will run for two months. The exhibits, installation, video and sound accompaniment will help the viewers to experience the full range of emotions that were usual for the women in the harsh war time.

We hope the exhibition “Daughters of Russia will become another page in the book of Memory about the great Victory, of which the 70th anniversary will be celebrated in 2015.
