Sholokhov Museum Presented Its Exhibition in Penza

On June, 20, the Literary Museum of the Penza Region opened the exhibition “Book Graphics on the Works by M.A.Sholokhov”.

This is the second exhibition telling the residents and guests of the Penza Region about the work of the great writer M.A.Sholokhov. This exhibition will show the works by the well-known artists – Orest Vereisky, Yury Rebrov, Viktor Galdyayev, Nikolay Usachov, Vladimir Baklanov, Valentina and Leonid Petrov, Kukryniksy, who illustrated Sholokhov’s works. Each illustration is unique in the style of drawing and enables of having a chance of new understanding of the books “And Quiet Flows the Don”, “Virgin Soil Upturned”, ”Tales from the Don”, “The Fate of a Man” and “They Fought for Their Country”.

The immortal lines of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov performed by Serghei Drozhzhilov, the actor of the Lunacharsky Drama Theatre of the Penza Region, were heard at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The Cossack flavour of the exhibition was finely emphasized by the performance of the State ensemble of song and dance “Kazachiya Zastava”.

The exhibition “Book Graphics on the Works by M.A.Sholokhov” will run in Penza until August, 17, 2014.
