Sholokhov Museum Took Part in the Internet Conference “The Russian Language in the Dialogue of Cultures”

The International Humanitarian Forum “The Russian Language in the Dialogue of Cultures” organized by Rossotrudnichestvo, “Eurasian Dialogue” of the Russian Parliamentary European Club and the Perm Territorial Government was opened on June, 10. At the Internet conference the floor was taken by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. According to various estimates the Russian language is spoken by 260 – 270 mln people of the world. Today we see a growing interest in the Russian language. The Internet conference is joined by more than 2000 experts from Europe, Asia, North and South America.

In our country, the Federal target program “The Russian Language” covering the period from 2011 to 2015 is being realized. The Council of the Russian Language of the Russian Government and the Council of the Russian Language of the President are established. The civil society joins the activity on the state level.

Topical issues relating to the place of the Russian language among other languages, socio-political and legal aspects of the conservation and popularization of the Russian language abroad, the importance and role of Russian culture in the world cultural space, methodological principles and practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language, and other issues were discussed at the conference.
