The First Issue of the Journal “The World of Sholokhov” is Published
19.05.2014A presentation of the new periodical “The World of Sholokhov” will be held on May, 24, the birthday of the great Russian writer M.A.Sholokhov, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, in the “People’s House” of the Museum-Reserve.
The founder of the journal is the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The Editorial Board headed by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve, is joined by the well-known Russian and foreign Sholokhov scholars, writers and museum workers. The editor-in-chief is Y.A.Dvoryashin (Moscow).
The idea of issuing the periodical presenting the interdisciplinary studies of the artistic world of the author of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” and publishing new materials about him has been developing for a long time. It was approved by the members of the International conference “Modern Studies in the Art of M.A.Sholokhov: Problems, Concepts, Approaches” which took place in September of 2013, in the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.
The journal “The World of Sholokhov” is a scientific and educational periodical edition. Its purpose is to popularize the scientific, informational and bibliographic knowledge of the literary heritage of M.A.Sholokhov, cultural traditions and history of Russia and the Don cultural life of the Cossacks being an important part of the Russian people.
