“Russian Gold Embroidery Art” in Sholokhov Museum
16.05.2014An exhibition “Russian Gold Embroidery Art” is going to open on May, 24, in the Excursion-Exhibition Centre “The People’s House”. It is presented by the Russian Ethnographic Museum, one of the world major museums, which collection numbers nearly 700 000 units of keeping.
The visitors will be shown the world of wonderfully beautiful things and will learn about the ancient kind of needlework which was widely common in many nations in the past and has survived by now.
The exhibition will show about 200 items: numerous kinds of fabrics and different gold embroidery techniques, details of Orthodox priest vestments, women’s and men’s suits of the peoples of the Volga, Caucasus and Central Asia. A special section of the exhibition will be devoted to jewelry and accessories.
The unique exhibition will run till June, 26.
