On March, 14, the Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts opened an exhibition “Book Graphics on the Works by M.A.Sholokhov”.

It is a joint project of the two museums within the frames of “2014 is the Year of Culture” and a return visit of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov to the Orenburg colleagues, who presented their exhibition “Orenburg Downy Shawl” in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

The exhibition from the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov showing unique illustrations to the works by the great Russian writer aroused a great interest in the people of Orenburg. The opening ceremony was joined by Viktor Alexandrovich Shorikov, the Minister of Culture and Foreign Relations of the Orenburg Region, representatives of the Orenburg regional public organization of writers of the “Russian Union of Writers” and students. The speakers noted a big historical connection between the Don and Ural Cossacks, a similarity of Cossack fates described in the works by M.A.Sholokhov.
