In Memory of the First Director

This year it is the 30^th anniversary of foundation of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. An evening party devoted to the history of the Museum foundation and the memory of its first director N.A.Bulavin will be held on March, 25, at the “People’s House”.

Nikolay Alexandrovich Bulavin headed the Museum from 1984 to 1987. Having been previously the First Secretary of the Vyoshenskaya District Communist Party Committee he succeeded in the new business, selected, trained and encouraged the staff, found the way of the Museum development, outlined the major prospects.

He said to his colleagues: “We must create a unique literary and memorial museum, which will functionally join the life and work of the great writer in time and space, where the environment reveals the creative laboratory of the writer”. The Museum staff will forever remember N.A.Bulavin as an example of a selfless service to the cause of the Museum and the Fatherland. He was a leader of deep, prospective public thinking, was well aware of the need to preserve the memory of the great countryman and realized the importance of his work.

“Today we feel the impulse rendered by Nikolay Alexandrovich for the Museum development to the full”, – A.M.Sholokhov, the present director of the Museum emphasized.

All those who have worked with N.A.Bulavin, who were at the origins of the Museum-Reserve activities, will share their memories at the evening party.
