Young Residents of Vyoshenskaya Disclosed the Great Cookery Secrets

03.12.2013

A series of interactive lessons were held for primary schoolchildren at the exhibition “Little Secrets of Great Cuisine” of the Azov Historical, Archaeological and Palaeontological Museum-Reserve.

The lessons were organized by the workers of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov in the Excursion and Exhibition Centre “The People’s House”. At the lessons the children learned about the peculiarities of the art of cookery of different countries, about the history of cutlery and spices on dinner table, about the secrets of traditional Russian and Cossack cuisines, learned, why some meals are called lenten and others are fat, and how fruit and vegetables are wholesome.

Working independently with a guidebook the children studied the exhibits better and then they guessed the riddles, answered the questions of the quiz, identified the differences between Cossack and Ukrainian dishes, learned how to lay the table for breakfast, dinner and supper.

At the end of the lesson the young cooks were presented with a recipe of the original French “Olivier” salad.
