29.11.2013

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov and Rostov-on-Don school No 118 have been successfully realizing a joint museum-educational program with the use of a regional component.

Early in November, in Rostov, there were held visiting sessions for the senior schoolchildren within the frames of a special course “Regional Studies”. The museum-workers of the Youth Program Department held a presentation of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve and its structures, delivered lectures “A Walk about Sholokhov Places” and “From the History of the Screen Version of the Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. Then the students took part in the master-classes “Making Rag Dolls”, “Decorative Felt” and “Making a Ceramic Candlestick”, and the 5th form children took part in the interactive game “Visiting the Don Cossacks”.

The children liked the Museum activities and they came on a visit to Vyoshenskaya, the home country of M.A.Sholokhov.

The guests met with the museum-workers, who held consultations for them on the topics: “The Great Patriotic War in the Life and Work of M.A.Sholokhov”, “The History of Writing the Story “The Science of Hatred”, “Personal Correspondence of M.A.Sholokhov”, “The Tales of the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov” and answered the questions of the young researchers.

The Rostov visitors went sightseeing about the stanitsa, visited the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov, historical and literary exhibition, the stable and the exhibition “A Wanderer with a Russian Soul. M.Y.Lermontov. Destiny of the Poet-Warrior” of the State Lermontov Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany” and joined the museum classes “Weaving Mats of Grass”, “Painting of Decorative Plates” and “Decorative Wattle Fence”.

Leaving the country of Sholokhov the children were full of bright impressions and creative plans.
