NewsTo Preserve Cultural and Natural Heritage18.11.2013On November, 15, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the round table talk at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation to discuss the inter-agency cooperation for solving key issues on preservation of cultural and natural heritage, development of rural and educational tourism. The event was organized by the RF Public Chamber Commission on Culture and Historical Heritage, “Zapovedniki” EcoCentre and Expert Council on Protected Natural Areas of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia. The members of the RF Public Chamber and representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Nature, the Federal Tourism Agency, the Russian Geographic Society, tourist companies, scientific and public organizations, museums, museum-reserves, national parks and mass media discussed the prospects of inter-agency cooperation for solving key issues of conservation of natural and cultural heritage and development of educational and rural tourism, ecological and patriotic education using the potential of cultural landscapes of protected natural areas and museum-reserves. The workers of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve informed about the activity of the international Children and Youth Environmental movement “Sholokhov Source” organized by the Museum, about the experience of holding events on environment and natural protection. The discussion was focused on the detailed analysis of the approved forms of ecological education and on consideration of new ideas and working technologies. Of great interest was the presentation of recommendations for the cultural landscape management prepared by a group of authors under the editorship of M.E.Kuleshova, head of the sector of the Russian D.S.Likhachov Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage in the project of the European Commission “Cultural Landscapes: Traditions for Development”.
