A New Special Course is Opened
05.11.2013In the Children’s Museum Centre of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve a new special course “Traditional Crafts of the Upper Don Cossacks” is opened for the 5th form students.
The program of the Course includes eight interactive museum lessons devised by the Museum-Reserve Department of Youth Programs. The children learn about the Don Cossack cuisine, special features of olden crockery used by Cossacks when cooking meals, about the Don costume history.
One of the lessons is focused on a children’s toy. The members of the class will make a moppet by themselves. There are lessons to work with clay and felt.
The special course “Traditional Crafts of the Upper Don Cossacks” is one of the local study areas in the work of the Museum-Reserve and is supplementary to the school “Technology” lessons.
The new course lessons have been given to the 5th form students of the Sholokhov school of Vyoshenskaya since the beginning of the school year.
