The Forest of People’s Friendship

The II round of the XIV rally of the Children and Youth Environmental Movement “Sholokhov Source” included an action “A Unique Tree of My Native Country” joined by the schoolchildren of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Kolundayev and Kruzhilin villages, and from Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The children planted trees typical for their locality in the Forest of the People’s Friendship.

Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, A.M.Sholokhov, director of the Memorial Sholokhov Museum in the village of Daryinskoye   (the Kazakhstan Republic), O.A.Chekanova, deputy governor of the Rostov Region, V.N.Vasilenko, director of the Rostov Region Forestry Department, A.N.Palatny, deputy head of the Rostov Region Committee on Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, R.V.Goncharov, the head of the Department on Environment Analisis, Ecological Education and Information of the Environment Administration, S.Y.Pokul, the head of the Sholokhov District Administration O.N.Delnov, took part in planting trees together with the young ecologists.

The planting was carried out according to a special technology: the trees were planted in the ground in peat pots with all the requirements followed for each kind of the trees.

The workers of the Museum-Reserve and the members of the movement “Sholokhov Source” hope that planting trees in the forest of People’s Friendship will become a good tradition.
