07.06.2013

This interesting and brightly illustrated edition is one of the parts of the collection book “Museum Guide-2013”: Invitation to Travel” published by the Charitable Foundation of V.Potanin in cooperation with the museums within the program “The First Publication”.

The booklets devoted to the 16 museums have a common visual design with each of them being an independent book convenient in travelling. The museums and their collections are spoken about by the art historians, journalists, scholars of culture, archaeologists and artists. The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov was introduced by the Candidate of historical sciences, an art historian, Tatiyana Gatar, and a journalist, Vladislav Pavlov. Their article in the form of a fascinating itinerary informs the reader of the Museum and describes the impressions of the guests about their visit to the great writer’s homeland.

At the presentation of the new edition held on June, 2, the publishers spoke about the foundation of the project, peculiarities of the museums that the guidebooks were devoted to, shared their impressions about their joint work. Nataliya Tolstaya, Director of the Charitable Foundation of V.Potanin, said: “The main purpose for us is to join two points of view: the visitors’ opinion and the museum-workers’ vision from the inside. Often the views of the two parties are not the same. What is obvious for the museum-workers is not clear for the visitors of the museum”.

The guidebooks, brightly designed, informative and interesting, are sure to be in demand by the readers. The guidebook of Sholokhov Museum tells about its history, collection, the ways of getting to Vyoshenskaya, accommodation, Museum timetable, ticket prices and many other things useful for tourists in their travelling.
