NewsAt the Tourist Fair in Italy20.02.2013This year, for the first time, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the International Tourist Exhibition-Fair – BIT-2013, which was held on February, 14–17, in Milan, Italy. BIT is an annual traditional place of meeting for tour operators, national and regional tourist boards, hotels and hotel chains, air carriers and insurance companies. The BIT exponents are the representatives of the major tourist companies of Europe, Asia and America. This year exhibition was joined by over 2000 exponents from more than 120 countries. Participation in such an exhibition gives the Museum an opportunity of promotion the tourist routes and new tours, meeting with partners and establishing new business contacts. Presentations, round tables, seminars on critical issues of tourism are traditionally held within the BIT exhibition. As well, on this February, 14, the Russian stand participants met with the major tour operators of Italy. The meeting was organized by the Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia, A.Y.Manilova. During the meeting it was noted that Italy is an important strategic partner of Russia in the field of tourism. In 2012, the number of tourists from Italy, who visited Russia, increased by 2 percent. A.Y.Manilova expressed her hope that mutual exchange of tourism will increase. She stressed that the Year of Tourism of Italy in Russia will play an important role in addressing this issue.
