“Sholokhov Spring” Invites You to Vyoshenskaya on May, 24-25

On May, 24–25, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, an all-Russian literary and folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring” dedicated to the 108^th anniversary of Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov, the great Russian writer, Nobel Prize winner in literature, is going to be held.

As a tradition, the Friday will begin with “Vyoshenskiye Vesnushki”, a literary and folklore holiday for children. It will be joined by children’s song and dance groups from different parts of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. In the   evening, a themed gala event devoted to the life and art of M.A.Sholokhov will take place in the Palace of Culture.

The Saturday morning will rejoice you with a theatrical Cossack reveille, together with the folk groups, singing and dancing you will walk through the streets of Vyoshenskaya. The folk art lovers will be delighted with the performances of the folk groups, a fair of arts and crafts; a wide festivity will begin in the makeshift Cossack houses. At night, a gala concert and fireworks will take place at the embankment of the River Don.

On the Sunday, brave horsemen will show their art of fancy-riding and slashing rods.

During the holidays, the People’s House will open new exhibitions from the best museum collections of Russia; the working time of all the permanent Museum-Reserve exhibitions will be extended.
