Tourism Development in Reserved Territories was Discussed

11.03.2013

On March, 6, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the talk on “Rural Tourism and Reserved Territories. The Importance of Charished Natural Areas and Museum-Reserves in the Development of the Russian Remote Places”, which was organized on the initiative of the RF Public House Commission on culture and conservation of the historic and cultural heritage and the EcoCentre “Reserves”.

Now rural tourism is one of the main lines in the development of the Russian remote places; that is why the talks were joined by the representatives of the RF Ministry of Culture, Federal Tourism Agency of the RF, leaders and specialists of national parks, museum-reserves and other institutions.

The round table participants discussed the contemporary development of the rural tourism in Russia, its role in the improvement of socio-economic situation of the Russian village. A practical experience of the rural tourism development in different regions of the country was presented.

It follows from the talks that national parks and museum-reserves often become centres of the rural and ecological tourism. The interaction of these institutions with the local population supports a socio-economic development of the regions, and a lot of experience helps to realize the social and socio-cultural objectives: to stop the degradation of rural areas, reducing the population in rural areas and the growth of negative social phenomena, to preserve and partially restore the cultural and natural heritage, and the national identity.
