Christmas Concert in the People’s House

“Bright Christmas is the happiest holiday!”– These words opened the Christmas concert in the Museum “People’s House” on January, 8. Its program was made up by the teachers and students of the parochial and Sunday schools of Vyoshensky parish, the congregation of the Saint Mikhail the Archangel Church and the museum workers of the Mass Event Department of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.

The event was opened by the Upper Don Dean, rector of the Mikhail the Archangel Church, archpriest Vladimir Polyakov. He told about the purport of the great Christian holiday of Christmas, the parents of Jesus Christ, about the importance of loving the family and the nearest people.

The parish choir sang Christmas songs; a happy village family of the Popovs performed merry Christmas carols. After that the children  and Father Frost, and Snow Maiden danced round the Christmas Tree in the hall of the People’s House.

The dear guests of the Christmas Concert were the children of Kalininsky orphanage. Following the concert all the children got Christmas presents in the parochial school and went on an excursion about the St.Mikhail the Archangel Church.

The public was delighted with the concert, the fine performance of the children.
