A Photo Exhibition “M.A. Sholokhov. In the Quiet Don Country” in Lima

A photo exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov. In the Quiet Don Country” laid out by the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve supported by the “Rossotrudnichestvo” agency and the Russian Federation Embassy in the Republic of Peru made a successful run in the capital of Peru, lima, in the Russian Scientific and Cultural Centre, on November, 20-24, 2012.

The exposure consisted of three thematic sections, 57 photographs showing the main points of the life and work of the writer, Nobel Prize winner in literature, M.A.Sholokhov, the nature of the Don country, the work of the National Museum-Reserve in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

Opening the exhibition Director of the Museum, A.M.Sholokhov, said that a rare artist ever chances an opportunity to become so closely linked with his country in his work, that the very name of his became inseparable from the land glorified by him, from the great Quiet Don.

The members of the Association of Compatriots, the Peruvian-Russian Cultural Association headed by its chairman C.Munis, graduates from Russian and Soviet universities and the Peruvian public with great interest viewed the exposition, the documentary footage about the memorial places and modern life of the Don Cossacks.

Following that, in an informal setting, the writer’s grandson gave detailed answers to the questions of the guests of the Russian Cultural Centre.
