The Oak of Vyoshenskaya has Become All-Russian Rarity
12.09.2012The ceremony of conferring the all-Russian status “The Tree is a Living Natural Memorial” to the natural memorial “The Oak of Vyoshenskaya” has taken place.
Conferring the status means that the 400-year-old legendary patriarch is taken under the federal protection and from now on the specialists of the non-commercial partnership “Healthy Forest” will carry out a complex of sanitary-improving and rehabilitating measures.
The tree is equipped with a plate, and the Sholokhov District Administration is given the certificate to confirm conferring the status “Living Natural Memorial”.
The ceremony was joined by director of the State M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve A.M.Sholokhov, president of the non-commercial partnership “Healthy Forest” S.B.Palchikov, head of the Sholokhov District Administration O.N.Delnov, participants of the International scientific-practical conference “Museum-Reserve: Ecology and Culture” museum-workers, specialists of forestry and environmental organizations, schoolchildren and residents of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.
