The Cup of “Sholokhov Source” Left for Kazakhstan
06.07.2012On July, 4-5, the State M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve held the 2nd round of the XIII Rally of the Children-Youth Ecological Movement “Sholokhov Source”, which was participated by 11 teams from Russia, Ukrain and Kazakhstan. The rally was organized with the assistance of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources of the Rostov Region Administration, the Sholokhov District Administration, the Sholokhov District Department of Education.
On the first rally day the participants went on ecological expedition to learn about various natural landscapes and sights of Sholokhov country, made a fascinating trip along the River Don, visited the expositions of the Museum-Reserve, took part in the literary quiz “M.A. Sholokhov. Life and Work”.
The members of the rally made a camp on the bank of the River Don near Lebyazhy Village, took part in the tourist relay, contests and competitions.
A bright event was a holiday concert on the water with the children’s singing and dancing in colourful folk dresses. The “veterans” of the movement addressed to the members of the XIII rally wishing them to keep the movement traditions. Accompanied by a traditional song many small lights floated down the River Don to symbolize the 13th anniversary of “Sholokhov Source”. The night sky was lit up by fireworks and many Chinese lanterns slowly went into the sky.
The first rally day ended with a Fire of Friendship. The young people sang songs to the guitar, told about their native places, shared their impressions.
The next day the rally members presented their team visiting cards and reports on the ecological expedition, competed in boating and in tugging a rope.
On the results of the rally the winners of the Cup of “Sholokhov Source” were the team “Dostyk” from Kazakhstan.
But the main reward, according to the members of all the teams, was the opportunity of making new friends, communicating with their peers, having a happy and healthy holiday and indelible impressions afforded by the rally “Sholokhov Source”.
