Vyoshenskaya is Preparing for the Holiday

         An All-Russian Literary-Folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring” in Vyoshenskaya is going to give a hearty welcome to its guests.

         The stanitsa is cleaned, the squares are washed, it smells paint and glue. From around, one can hear sounds of hammering, sawing, hooting of heavy lorries.

         This year the big stage for the gala concert is constructed on the water of the River Don. Now, impressive portals of the sound monitors are being installed, tribunes for the viewers are being set up. Another stage decorated with emblems “The Rostov Region is 75” and a stylized picture of the writer’s pen bearing Sholokhov’s facsimile against the sun over the Don has been ready for the holiday in front of the literary museum.

         In the park, bright orange pavilions are being constructed. On Saturday, a market of arts and crafts will be held here. Decorative stylized Cossack houses are being installed. They will represent villages and stanitsas of the Don. In each of the “kurens” the guests will be treated with the best dishes of the folk cuisine and enjoy the best songs and dances.

         The well-known sculptor Nikolay Mozhayev is preparing his art exhibition in the Palace of Culture. His sculpture “Grigory and Aksiniya” has become a symbol of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, a brand of this wonderful holiday.

         The stadium is ready for the football match. The Museum Stable is also getting ready for the holiday: the children will have a ride at the children’s holiday… And a lot of other things is being prepared for the guests and participants of the “Sholokhov Spring”.
