New Prospects for Tourism Development

25.01.2012

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the 32nd International Tour Market FITUR-2012, which was held on January, 18-22, in Madrid.

This year the market presented 10434 companies from 166 countries. The exhibition was visited by 209260 people including 7726 journalists from 59 countries.

The opening ceremony was joined by the Spanish Throne heir, Prince Felipe of Asturias with his wife, and the members of the state government. On the first working day the Russian exposition was visited by Alexander Kuznetsov, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in the Kingdom of Spain.

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, a permanent member of the exhibition, presented an exposition “Open Air Novel”. The tourists were attracted by the programs presenting the Don Cossack culture and traditional way of life, affording an opportunity of mastering rod network, pottery, of rest making and fishing on the Don River.

Participation of the Museum-Reserve in the exhibition of this scale makes the name of M.A. Sholokhov more popular abroad and opens new prospects for tourism development.
