An exhibition devoted to the life and work of Konstantin Ivanovich Priyma, a journalist, literary critic and the famous researcher in Sholokhov’s work, is opened in the house of the historical-literary exposition “M.A. Sholokhov. Time and Destiny”. It is timed for his 100th anniversary.

K.I. Priyma got acquainted with Sholokhov before the Great Patriotic war and since then he had begun studying the life and work of the great writer.

The painstaking work resulted in publishing two monographs displayed at the exhibition: “The Quiet Don” is Fighting” and “Keeping Step with the Century. Articles about the Art of M.A. Sholokhov”.

The visitors will see the photos showing the meetings of K.I. Priyma and the writer in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, manuscript pages, documents and personal belongings of Konstantin Ivanovich. Of special attraction is a Kuban Cossack hood which belonged to the forefathers of K.I. Priyma, a native of Stanitsa Akhtanizovskaya the Taman branch of the Kuban Region.

The holding of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve keeps the archives of K.I. Priyma (over 4000 items) of great historic value, which help a profound study in the life and work of the great writer. The archives were transferred to the Museum on November, 23, 1991, by Lidiya Ivanovna Vereshkova the widow of Priyma.
