On December, 12, 1937, Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov was first elected to the highest representative body of the state power – the Supreme Soviet of the People’s Deputies. The voters trusted their countryman, writer, to represent them in the following years, and Sholokhov performed his parliamentary duties until the end of his life.

A photo exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov. In the Quiet Don Country” laid out by the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve supported by the “Rossotrudnichestvo” agency and the Russian Federation Embassy in the Republic of Peru made a successful run in the capital of Peru, lima, in the Russian Scientific and Cultural Centre, on November, 20-24, 2012.
The House of Martyn Brothers is Reconstructed

The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve carries on a reconstruction of the object of the Federal historical and cultural heritage “The House of Martyn Brothers” in Rostov-on-Don (125/ 69 Bolshaya Sadovaya Str.). There will be opened a Museum branch for an exhibition centre to demonstrate expositions and travelling exhibitions.

Before the 1970-s, tourism was not traditional for the museums. But today museums work actively with individual tourists and tourist groups without resorting to the services of travel agencies. And the National M.A .Sholokhov Museum-Reserve is one of the most successful in developing this area.
