On February, 7, it is the 120th anniversary of Kharlampiy Ermakov, the prototype of Grigoriy Melekhov and one of the real personages of the novel by M.A. Sholokhov “and Quiet Flows the Don”.

On February, 1, 2011, it was the 110th anniversary of Mariya Petrovna Sholokhova, the wife of the writer. Earlier the date of her birthday was considered to be February, 8, 1902, but the senior research worker of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve V.V. Leonova managed to find out in the State Archives of the Volgograd Region the documents proving the fact that Mariya Petrovna was born on February, 1 (January, 19, according to Julian calendar), 1901.
FITUR – 2011

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the International tourist exhibition “FITUR – 2011”, which was held in Madrid on January, 19-23.
New Version of the Site

Today the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve presents a new version of its official site, designed by the famous artist from Saint Petersburg Arkadiy Opochanskiy. The artistic design of the site sections conforms to the Museum conception of the “Open Air Novel”, reveals the interrelationship between the space of the Don country and the peculiar literary environment.
