“Zarnitsa” Gained the Diploma of the All-Russian Сontest
18.10.2011In Rostov-on-Don, on October, 16, a military stage of the All-Russian Contest of Cossack Folk Groups “Cossack Circle” was over. The group “Zarnitsa” of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve succeeded in the contest program and was awarded the Diploma and present.
The jury appreciated the ethnographic value of the repertoire, style conformity, mode of performance, originality, artistic culture.
The contest was participated by the best Cossack groups from the Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan regions and from Kalmykia.
The laureate of the military stage of the contest was a folklore group “Volnitsa” of the Rostov Regional House of Folk Arts. The group has progressed learning songs of the Upper Don Cossacks from the country glorified by Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov.
The head of the jury, art director of the State M.I. Pyatnitskiy Academic Russian Folk Chorus, the People’s Actress of Russia Alexandra Permyakova highly praised the work of the folk groups. At the awarding ceremony she said the words of gratitude and admiration: “Let me bow to you for your carrying out such an important mission of preserving and handing down to the descendants the best traditions of the people’s culture”.
In the contest the group “Zarnitsa” performed a soldier’s song, a marching song and a dancing song.
