News“Sholokhov Readings” in Vyoshenskaya14.09.2011The International Scientific-Practical conference “Sholokhov Readings” was held in StanitsaVyoshenskaya on September, 12-14. It was devoted to the problems, approaches and conceptions in the up-to-date studies of the art of M. A. Sholokhov. In the home country of the writer there took place an interesting talk and discussion on the subject of Sholokhov studies as well as on the role of culture in the life in general. The director of the State M. A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Alexander Mikhailovich Sholokhov ruled the roast of this approach by telling about his recent visit to north Siberia, where in the extreme north Russian people live. They have not only survived, but also set an example of a phenomenal fortitude in the extreme natural circumstances, withal, having preserved their native liberty supported by their original culture. It is an inspiring example and an analogue of the mission carried out by museum-reserves of Russia at present. In the People’s House the members of the conference presented their most interesting finds in the studies of the writer’s art and latest literary research. The session was joined by the writer’s daughter, S. M. Sholokhova, and his son, M. M. Sholokhov. Interesting talks were given by the Doctors of Philological Sciences E.A. Kostin (International Baltic Academy, Lithuania), A. A. Dyrdin (Uliyanovsk State Technical University), Y. A. Dvoryashin(A. M. Gorky World Literature Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences), V. V. Petelin (Moscow State Humanitarian University named after M. A. Sholokhov), Lu Yadin (Sychuan University, Chinese People’s Republic). The public was introduced 20 talks followed by a “round table” discussion on the subjects of “Sholokhov Encyclopaedia” publication. The conference was unanimously proved to be fruitful and useful,the work over “Sholokhov Encyclopaedia” is in progress and is widely contributed by the scientists from many cities of Russia.
